On June 14, 2026 the LFF Disciplinary Committee, which convened for an extraordinary meeting, examined the case regarding possible violations of the LFF Club Licensing Rules, the 2026 LFF TOPLYGAS Championship Competition Regulations and the LFF Disciplinary Code provisions applicable to the Vilnius “Riteriai” club.
It should be emphasized that, based on Article 39, Part 3 of the Disciplinary Code, participants must comply with the Disciplinary Code, the LFF Statutes, Competition Regulations or other similar documents establishing the procedure for organizing and participating in the Competition, other LFF documents and decisions of its bodies and administration, as well as FIFA and UEFA documents and decisions of their bodies.
The club was given a deadline until June 15 to resolve the existing licensing problems, but the club failed to do so.
The LFF also reminds that the “Riteriai B” team was excluded from the LFF II League A Division championships, so currently the “Riteriai” does not have a backup team playing in the LFF I League championships or the LFF II League championships, although according to clause 13.1 of the TOPLYGA regulations, backup teams of clubs participating in the TOPLYGA must participate in the LFF I League championships or the LFF II League championships.
For these reasons, the LFF Disciplinary Committee decided to cancel the TOPLYGA license issued to the Public Institution Football Club “Riteriai”, which entitles the club team to participate in the 2026 LFF TOPLYGA championship.
The LFF Executive Committee, which convened for an extraordinary meeting on June 14, considered the issue of the list of clubs entitled to participate in the TOPLYGA championship.
Having received the decision of the LFF Disciplinary Committee, the LFF Executive Committee decided to remove the Public Company Football Club "Riteriai" and its team from the list of clubs and their teams eligible to participate in the TOPLYGA championship.
Since the team did not play half (50%) of the matches, its results in the championship are annulled.
